WELCOME PRE IB AND IB DIPLOMA STUDENTS TO SCHOOL YEAR 2008-09!!

 

THIS IS AN EXCITING YEAR, AS WE BEGIN OUR “OFFICIAL” IB DIPLOMA PROGRAM. ELEVENTH GRADERS, YOU ARE THE TRAIL BLAZERS, THE FIRST CLASS TO EMBARK ON THIS ADVENTURE. I’M CONFIDENT THAT YOU’LL SET THE STANDARD FOR ALL CLASSES TO FOLLOW.

*BE PATIENT IN THE LUNCHROOM FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS. YOUR LUNCH TIME IS 11:50-12:20.

*MS. J AND I ARE AVAILABLE TO MEET WITH YOU REGARDING ANY ISSUES; PLEASE ASK FOR A PASS BEFORE COMING UP SO THAT YOUR TEACHER KNOWS WHERE YOU ARE.

Our Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate Organization aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

 

IB CURRICULUM

The International Baccalaureate Program is a rigorous pre-university course of studies, leading to examinations that meet the needs of highly motivated students in grades 11 and 12. Designed as a comprehensive two year curriculum that allows graduates to fulfill requirements of various national education systems.

 

Diploma candidates are required to select from each of the six subject groups. At least three and not more than four are taken at the higher level (HL), the others at the standard level (SL). HL courses represent 240 teaching hours, SL courses cover 150 hours. By arranging work in this fashion, students are able to explore some subjects in depth and some more broadly.

 

We offer a Pre-IB program for 9th and 10th grade students. This preparation program readies students for the rigorous demands of the diploma program.
