Congress established a series of
programs, known as TRIO, under Title IV of the Higher Education Act
of 1965 to help low-income Americans enter college, graduate, and
move on to participate more fully in America's economic and social
life. One of these programs is Educational Talent Search (ETS),
which serves young people in grades six through twelve. In
addition to academic counseling, participants receive information
about college admissions, requirements, scholarships, financial aid
programs, careers, decision making, organization and goal setting.
Haines City High School's TRIO Advisor is Mrs. Matina Wagner.
Once you are accepted into the program, Mrs. Wagner will come to the
high school to visit with you on certain days. If you think
you would qualify for this wonderful program, see Mrs. Roberts in
the Career Lab for an application. Tax returns and Social
Security Numbers will be required with the application. |
