Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program
Step-By-Step Instructions

First and foremost - I will begin calling ALL seniors down to the Career Lab on the first school day after December 1st to register for this program.  If you feel that you would rather complete the application at home, please follow these instructions VERY carefully to insure the proper submission of your application.

  1. You may use your home computer, career lab, or public library to go to Florida Student Scholarship & Grant Programs and hit enter on First Time Applicants
  2. See Application Requirements and hit on "How and When Do I Apply?"
  3. Read "To be Considered for a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Students Must:" and hit the link to www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org This application gives the Department of Education permission to evaluate your high school transcripts for eligibility for a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship.
  4. Move across the top menu to Apply Here for a student application. (Finding difficulty here you may contact a- Florida Toll Free Hotline 1-888-827-2004)
  5. You are now on Student Financial Assistance-Florida Department of Education Financial Aid Application for Students 2007-2008 Awards.
  6. Before you Begin - See important information you need to know before you apply!"

  7. Hit "Proceed to Application"
  8. Complete application- note printing instructions and help sites in the upper right hand corner. *Under Student Classification; enter your academic standing that you will be classified in the fall of 2008. You are either a Freshman - first time in college or a Freshman with previous college - a classification for students that will be attending their first year of college and have completed college coursework (dual enrollment classes while in high school or other college credits earned).
  9. After completing this application, print a copy of the application for your records.  Be VERY careful about entering your personal information CORRECTLY.  If you have typos, then you will be unable to retrieve your information at a later date.
  10. Hit -"Submit my Application"
  11. You will then receive a Student Financial Assistance-Saved Results. This indicates your application has been saved. Please review your application evaluation results at this time. Click on PRINT and save the copy for your records. 
  12. Once you submit your application, you will be able to change and/or update your application.  Your choice of college may change, your mailing address may change.  It is VERY important that you make the changes to keep your application updated.  By going back to the Main Menu, you can select "Application Status and Award History" and retrieve your User Id and Pin number.  Keep these number in a safe place.  Only the school that you have listed on the application will be able to access your funding.  You MUST keep this updated.
