Ceramics
& Pottery I (0102300) A first level semester course in the
study of ceramics.
The purpose of this course is to enable students to recognize
the properties, possibilities, and limitations of clay by
creating functional and nonfunctional works of ceramics and
pottery using basic hand-building techniques.
Ceramics
& Pottery II (0102310) The purpose of this course is to
enable students to recognize the properties, possibilities, and
limitations of clay by creating functional and nonfunctional
works of ceramics and pottery using intermediate level
hand-building and basic wheel-throwing techniques. Students will acquire knowledge of glazing. Works will be original
and no commercial molds will be used.
Draw /
Paint I (0104320) The purpose of this course is to enable
students to develop basic perceptual, observational, and
compositional skills necessary to communicate a range of subject
matter, symbols, ideas, and concepts using
knowledge of drawing and painting media, processes, and
techniques.
Draw /
Paint II (0104330) The purpose of this course is
to enable students to develop intermediate-level perceptual,
observational, and compositional skills necessary to communicate
a range of subject matter, symbols, ideas, and concepts
using knowledge of drawing and painting media, processes, and
techniques. Will include required studio
time outside of the school day.
