Science Courses

Integrated Science I (20024000) The purpose of this course is to provide opportunities to investigate the theories and ideas associated with the biological, earth, and physical sciences in a way that is relevant and usable. Students construct science knowledge by formulating questions, making predictions, planning experiments, making observations, classifying, interpreting and analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and communicating

Integrated Science I Honors (20024100) This course provides opportunities to investigate the theories and ideas associated with the biological, earth, and physical sciences in a way that is relevant and usable. Students construct science knowledge by formulating questions, making predictions, planning experiments, making observations, classifying, interpreting and analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and communicating

Biology I (20003100) This course will include the study of the basic structure and function of both plants and animals.  It is designed to develop ability in making laboratory investigations and develop awareness of living things in their environments.  A practical study of functions and characteristics of living things is stressed with emphasis on how and why.

Biology I Honors(20003200) This course will include the study of the basic structure and function of both plants and animals.  It is designed to develop ability in making laboratory investigations and develop awareness structure, and function of cells photosynthesis, development environmental problems of man.

Marine Biology (20025000) The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the marine environment, which includes the origin of the oceans, the nature of the marine habitat, and characteristics of marine life.

Chemistry I (20033400) A lab-oriented science that includes chemical calculations, chemical equations, and laboratory experience involving the use of related lab equipment and methods.  This introductory course is for the student planning for college.  It is a mathematical and theoretical approach to such topics as atomic balancing equations, and other topics. Prerequisite:  Algebra I.

Chemistry I Honors (20033500) A lab-oriented course that includes calculations, chemical equations, and lab experience involving the use of related equipment and methods. The emphasis is on the mathematical and theoretical approach to such topics as atomic structure and balancing equations.

Chemistry II Honors (20033600) A program designed to investigate the physical principles and related mathematical functions beyond the basic level of inorganic chemistry and general use of the periodic table.  The student will be expected to master both theory and laboratory techniques in the quantitative and qualitative levels. For college bound students. Prerequisites:  Biology and Chemistry.

Anatomy & Physiology Honors (20003600) The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop understanding of the relationships between the structures and functions of the human body.  Pre-requisites:  Biology and Chemistry.
